Vidya Balan Not in Ishqiya 2

The Ishqiya seuqel titled Dedh Ishqiya won't have Vidya Balan in it but the race for her replacement seems to have ended. Reportedly, Arshad Waris has said that Kangana Ranaut will be joining the second part of the Abhishek Chaubhey directed movie. Rani Mukherji was supposedly campaigning hard for the role - she allegedly sent out feelers to producer Vishal Bhardwaj - but now it appears that Kangana has gone a step ahead of the competition and made the cut. Rumor has it that Madhuri Dixit might be part of Ishqiya 2.

Finally, the mom-to-be Aishwarya Rai breaks her silence. Since she doesn't have any official Twitter page, she spoke to her fans through hubby Abhishek Bachchan's Twitter handle. "Hey, my dearest extended family world over. Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma are Best Actors at IIFA 2011

Shah Rukh Khan was named the best male actor for Karan Johar's My Name Is Khan, while Anushka Sharma picked the trophy for her role in Band Baaja Baraat at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards here. Anushka, who played a lively wedding planner in the movie, received her trophy from Shilpa Shetty Saturday night. Shah Rukh got his award from Anil Kapoor and American actress Hilary Swank, a surprise attraction at IIFA.

Raveena Tandon to Team Up with Sanjay Dutt

After making a comeback with Puri Jagannath's Bbuddha Hoga Terra Baap opposite Amitabh, Raveena Tandon has now bagged a role in the Sanjay Dutt starrer imminent movie Alert. It's learnt that a well-known ad filmmaker from south will be directing Alert. Raveena, who is choosy about signing films, apparently fell in love with the script and as such, has given a green signal for it. Speaking about Alert, Raveena stated, "I'm looking forward to the film. It should go on the floors in July."

Salman Khan Strips for 'Chillar Party'

The film, set to release on July 8, is a children's film with characters named like Encyclopedia, Jhangia, Akram, Secondhand, Panauti, Silencer, Aflatoon, Shaolin and Fatka. One of the promos recently shot in Mumbai has Salman Khan joking around with these kids. At one point he takes off his shirt and all the kids follow suit. The promo featuring Salman Khan and the kids shirtless is a fun to watch.

No Reality TV for Sonam Kapoor

Sonam Kapoor on a reality TV show? No, it's not happening! She has denied reports that she is hosting a style-based reality show. A regional newspaper in India had reported that the Sonam, 26, was following in the footsteps of Kareena Kapoor and has agreed to do a reality show, but she denied this through a Twitter post. "No, I'm not doing any show on television. Wasn't even approached and I have no interest as of now. #deccanchronicles reporter has written fiction," Sonam wrote.

Amitabh Bachchan, 68, suffers from chest congestion and sore throat due to over work. He is busy promoting his two films, Bbduddha Hoga Tera Baap and Aarakshan and due to hectic schedule, he has developed those problems. Long hours of talking in media interviews and press conferences have taken a toll in his health. The hectic schedules exhausted him. Bbuddha Hoga Tera Baap, Bachchan's is slated for July 1 release, while Prakash Jha's Aarakshan is looking at an August 12 release.

Deepika Padukone did an energetic dance sequence at a night club in London for Homi Adajania's film Cocktail, which also features Saif Ali Khan in the lead role. It is said that the makers of Cocktail decided to start shooting the film, as Deepika's dates are available following the delay of her Tamil film Rana due to Rajinikanth's bad health. Sources said that a well-known nightclub in London was hired for two days to shoot a steamy sequence featuring Deepika. Ranbir Kapoor is set to do his bit for the welfare of girl child in the country. He will auction his portrait, done during Simi Garewal's chat show India's Most Desirable, and says the money will go to the Mijwan Welfare Society. Mijwan Welfare Society is a non-government organisation (NGO) in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, which is being run by actress-activist Shabana Azmi and Namrata Goyal. The organisation works for the empowerment of girl child.

Sanjay Dutt didn't initially want to get his head shaved to play the villain in producer Karan Johar's remake of the yesteryear hit Agneepath. Sanjay Dutt had roped in the Hollywood make-up expert Robin Slater to give him the bald look. Applying the make-up to give Sanjay Dutt a bald look used to take close to three hours and taking it off after the shoot took another 1 hour and a half. To make matters worse, the sweltering heat in Diu, where the film is being shot, began melting the make-up, giving Dutt a grotesque look. All of it was becoming too much of a headache for Sanjay Dutt. So he took the bold decision and went bald.
